Inventory Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the efficient flow of goods within the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in receiving, storing, and issuing goods and materials. Monitor inventory levels and report any discrepancies or shortages to the inventory manager.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input inventory data into electronic databases or inventory management systems. Maintain up-to-date records of stock levels, movements, and transactions.
  • Stock Replenishment: Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock. Generate purchase orders or requisitions as needed.
  • Inventory Audits: Participate in regular inventory counts and audits to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies. Investigate any discrepancies and take corrective actions under the guidance of the inventory manager.
  • Organization and Maintenance: Organize warehouse storage areas to optimize space utilization and facilitate easy access to inventory. Ensure that goods are stored safely and securely.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation related to inventory management, including shipping/receiving documents, stock transfer forms, and inventory reports.
  • Communication: Liaise with other departments, such as shipping, receiving, and production, to coordinate inventory activities and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures, safety regulations, and company policies. Adhere to relevant industry standards and best practices.
